People are quick to moan when there’s nothing going on between races, well tonight you can watch some speedway between races6 points

Awful meeting. Pleased no one got seriously injured. The ONLY good thing I have to say about it is.........the big big smile on Barry Bishops face after an IOW 1&2. The effort he and his team out into PROMOTING speedway, they all deserved this. Congratulations everyone from IOW.6 points

Congratulations to Poole on getting through to the final. Stunning match, we just ran out of riders at the end. Guys all rode their hearts out. At the beginning of the season, would have been pleased just to get into the play offs, but have to say just a tad disappointed now5 points

Wow. Fair play to Chris Harris, that was absolute magic. Much as I didn't want Poole to win, can only applaud that.5 points

Most people by now would stop digging, say "sorry i missed the word "southern" when I read your post and saw only "premier league." My bad and sorry about being a dick about it afterwards." Not keep blaming the original poster after being literally the only person to must-read it, and then have the temerity to call THEM stupid...4 points

i know im now going to get a bit of stick but ive reread the last half dozen pages and have to admit after a long and intensive visit to poole quay at lunchtime yesterday i was really wound up,im annoyed i let you get to me so much, but you do say some idiotic things,in real life its unlikely our paths would ever cross, leastways not for long, but that can be a problem with internet forums.I understand matt is dissapointed with this partial reconciliation as not being one to miss an opportunity hed already booked dale allitt for the undercard lol.The only positive i can hope for is that in future you pause and try and think a little.if the pay per view customers have paid by credit card they will be entitled to a full refund!! very sorry to disappoint what was a growing number of fans lol4 points

I don't think he could do anything about Bomber, momentum was in his favour and Doyle just became a passenger, had Harris been able to strike earlier in the race the outcome may have been different but there was just no time for Doyle to recover, brilliant ride from Harris, one of the all time great passing manoeuvres.3 points

Gutted. The 4 Rebels were magnificent tonight and the IRR cost us dearly the Pirates got 6+1 for Kurtz 3 rides and the Rebels got 4 from 4 got for Holder. I can’t help think if we had a full 1-7 we would have walked it Congrats to Poole and a great ride by bomber3 points
-
Fair play to Bomber, that ride was top stuff in any league or competition, Rebels didn't blow it tonight, they blew it at home by failing to get a decent lead.3 points
-
So proud of my team tonight. Doyle, Allen and Covatti magnificent. Sorry Lawson we needed you tonight, too many thirds and only one win. Thanks for turning up for us Kyle, a friend of Somerset, that’s the first time you’ve not done it for us. Three of our guys now unavailable for the KO Cup, gonna be tough against the Champions Elect.3 points

that was a class move by covatti to get lawson through3 points

But starman also mentioned Portsmouth who aren't in the Premier league or the southern Premier league!!3 points

Why should they concede when the result wasn’t decided. Not the sort of attitude I’d want from a team I support. Good job they didn’t concede with 3 races to go in 2006 when faced with the impossible eh...3 points

Hold on a sec, you cant use the brain tumour thing as some kind of get-out clause on a post you've clearly read wrong. On a wider scale, this is the kinda thing that does genuine sufferers of medical conditions no good whatsoever. You'd be quick enough to chastise (google it) someone who brought it up as a slur against you. Anyway, if anyone is prepared to record a meeting of keith and yourself, i'll be popping a nice little donation in the direction of the brain tumour charity.3 points

Not only were we determined to finish the main meeting, we had eleven junior riders here for an MDL challenge match who would have lost the opportunity to ride had the meeting been abandoned.3 points

I was wrong. Simple as that. Bomber brought with him too many negative memories for me to contemplate, but truth is he has said he ows Poole and is certainly paying it back. Well onto tonight and what a brilliant, brilliant meeting. It had the lot. Drama, crashes (of which I don’t like) drama, edge of your seat nerve jangling races and the ultimate of heat 15’s. The grandstand went absolutely ballistic. One forum member invaded the dog track and nearly got evicted. The loss of Brady in his first ride and I thought it was curtains. I didn’t know at the time as it wasn’t announced for at least 30 minutes that Holder was also out, which evened it up. If Holder had been OK Somerset would have romped it. Heard just before leaving that Holder may not have broken anything, just a big bump on the head. Brady has a broken collar bone and his season is run. Couple of thoughts. When Doyle fell he looked for it. It was clear he did a Nicki and dumped the bike in the hope of a rerun. The crowd were baying, shouting, out, out out. Huge roar when the white light came on. Poor call from Doyle who could probably have got second if he had stayed up, which at the end could have put Somerset through. Heat 15 and Klindt to me made the perfect start. Gutted the ref called it back. Spoke to Nicolai afterwards and he was frustrated about it. As for Bomber, never thought he would close on Doyle and get through. In fact on the third lap thought he was almost going to fall. To win by half a bike was just phenomenal. Never seen the grandstand erupt like that. Commiserations to Somerset who battled all the way. Wasn’t many Somerset fans present which was a suprise considering how many Poole fans headed to the Oak Tree. But a meeting like that shuts up all the people who moan about the Poole track. Just shows it produces excellent racing and is one of the best race tracks in the UK.2 points

On quiet reflection it was a brilliant spectacle of a match, it had everything, sadly the injuries but it all added to the drama, well done Poole on a great result and well done Chris Harris, what a guy.2 points

Somerset ran out of riders, but well done to the Pirates.. As much as I wanted them to loose. Pleased for Bomber more than anything. That was a ride and a half.2 points

Against all odds, Poole are by some miracle winning this. Heroic is the only word that does this justice....2 points

Well done kings Lynn, good luck in the final. Enjoy it2 points

I don’t get the shock, Somerset are down to 5 riders (and that’s being generous as I’m including Howarth) and they’re running out of steam. Heat 4 was the deciding factor.2 points

Somerset look really fired up. Great to see. Awful crash for both Aussies, let’s hope they are Both ok. Poole track looks pretty rough. A ‘horror’ track some might say.2 points

Don’t think it will be an easy win by any means but think the Stars will get the job done tonight. Fancy it being something like 47-43. Aces certainly no pushovers but see no reason for the Stars to suddenly falter. As I’ve said previously, when one struggles another steps up. Been that way for most of the season and can’t see that changing. These are the kind of nights we want to be involved in. Understand the nerves from some but enjoy it and have faith in a team who have given us nothing less than 100% all season. Up the Stars2 points

Yeah, dirty cheating scoundrels, all of 'em! Jokes aside, hope that we (Lakeside) are at full strength for the semi. Bowtell and Morley are on fire and I think we missed them last night. Hope Zach is back as well and hoping for a fair couple of meetings.2 points

Booth teams cheerleaders get their pom poms out...and whoever giggles their pom poms the best wins the tie.2 points

It’s understandable to be a bit squeaky bum at the moment. For me the Stars have the look of title winners to me and I really hope that proves to be the case. You will have earned it this year. Always felt you had terrible luck with injuries in the past when looking like front runners early doors. Good luck!2 points

Oh well. I suppose it’ll fire up the lakeside boys.2 points

The reality is that other promotions do not have emergency lighting to hand. Peterborough are in a particularly unique position in this regard. The apology comes with barbs and that diminishes it in my opinion. Neil Watson went to great pains to point out it is the referee who terminates a meeting early, yet we have references to the 'early finish' at Rye with the inference it was totally a Lakeside decision - so which is it? Last night both teams were using guests and references to 'playing games' does not sit well with someone who, on the face of it, would not agree to race at Arena when the opportunity was there. I wonder what strokes will be pulled for the play-offs.2 points
-
“We’ve been beaten on aggregate this time but what I will say is that we were beaten as a team, which is our team, without any games or whatever you want to call it. No games really - so you not agreeing to any fixtures at Arena Essex, knowing it would have to be ridden at Rye House is exactly what? just taking the piss? Your team - well congrats on signing Carl Wilkinson and Thomas Jorgenson in that case.2 points
-
I think you are being over-sensitive. It is just a quicker way of describing the idea of the PL and CL merging. If they merged, then they would merge into one big league instead of two smaller ones. Nobody thinks the NL doesn't exist.2 points
-
Peterborough got through the meeting despite most difficult circumstances. Well done GED and Peterborough in general... other promoters may have given up or gone for abandonment with result standing.2 points

I didn't go so I can't give an opinion as to the racing but it just goes to show how differently fans react with regard to their enjoyment of a meeting. Reading the posts on here I get the impression it was boring, the usual processional stuff and riders having problems with the track yet elsewhere the comments were 1] 'What a great meeting that was. Not all from the gate and some good racing.' 2] 'Great meeting. Really enjoyed it.' 3] 'Enjoyed this meeting today. Plenty of determination and grit.' 4] 'I enjoyed that. Good entertaining Speedway.' So presumably some fans are easily pleased?2 points

Couldn't make it last night due to family 'last supper'/taking youngest to uni. today, but what a turn around, I, like probably everyone else did not expect that. Full marks to the Comets for a performance which must give them confidence for the further challenges that lie ahead. I must admit the thing that has struck me is how genuine the good wishes seem to have been from seemingly everyone, but particularly from the Monarchs fans who must have been gutted, but who have been so magnanimous in defeat. A big thank you from us Comets and it only goes to prove that whilst the banter does possibly occasionally appear to overstep the mark it is banter and we (the supporters) are part of one speedway family.2 points
