  2. Just like to say Good Luck to Stuart Robson after he announced tonight that this season would be his last. Been a great servant to Newcastle and also British Speedway in general. Also well done Archie Freeman in winning the 150cc Youth Championship with four qualifying wins and a win in the Grand Final.

  3. Any rider who doesn`t even attempt to qualify by right should never be considered for a GP spot.

  4. What a great way to end the season two away wins just a shame we fell short.Totally surpassed my expectations so well done to all concerned at Berwick Speedway, think now we should have a large attendance at the final meeting to show our gratitude roll on next year.

  5. I know we struggled to obtain guests today but I would love to hear from one of our statisticians out there who could let us know just how sh*** Doolan always is when guesting for us. Did we do something bad to him in a previous life? Worrall is another that springs to mind, but Doolan is in a league of his own. Full marks to Aaron Summers who has been excellent for us recently.

  7. Can somebody please shut Shovlar up!! How can one man be so utterly clueless about the rules,........... Nothing but a troll stirring at every opportunity. Funny how the only Poole fans moaning are him, Lisa and Starman........we just need Gater1 or MFF for the complete set

  9. That would be one up for Worky not to mention your injury to Dan what i think is, remarkably you have achieved this with young Kyle at 7 all season, seen him win the Stars meeting at Berwick last night sure he will be a very decent rider with more experience one for the future good luck in the playoffs.

  10. Hope the track is like this for the GP next year. Loads of racing lines and plenty of great action so far

  14. There is no stunt, they are not cheating as you keep banging on about! To quote you - “all within the rules”. So stick your dummy back in and stop stirring it!

  15. id have fancied our chances against anyone a few weeks back with ty you just don't know what the score is and without dan we are weaker Glasgow with cookie are a different team and Peterborough are stronger using well selected guests id agree lakeside look weaker than they did a short time back

  16. What would make this event far more interesting is if the organisers arranged with BSI for the winner to get a GP wildcard. It would raise the status of the event, attract better riders and place the event in a position behind the GP series, rather than it is now which is just a hash up.

  17. Broc Nicol was ruled out under the 8 day rule. Our choice of guests did quite nicely though

  18. Highs - The best action at Ashfield in years, the new track shape is fantastic and some remedial work on the base over the Winter should make it even better. - The test match with Tai Woffinden. Meeting itself fell flat but the build up and pre meeting atmosphere were superb. - The World Under 21 Team Championship lots of new talent to watch and keep tabs on. Jan Kvech was a new one to me with Lidsey as impressive. - Tuesday feared the worst got the best! Lows - - Stewart Dickson cutting ties with the Tigers. A massive figure at the club who I always enjoyed listening to. - Richie Worrall for similar reasons to Stewart, to see him struggling on a track he previously bossed at times was baffling. - Lewi Kerr getting another huge injury. Lovely guy deserves better. Overall This has been my favourite season for a while purely because I am watching some superb speedway.

  19. Poole only found out the day before P+P, so plenty of time then!!

  20. Again “hardly matters” doesn’t cut it. The BSPA MC making it up as we go along is half the reason why nobody takes this sport seriously and why it’s in the mess it currently finds itself.

  21. No we won't win it without him that is why no dates will be agreed unless he will be there. Would defeat the purpose in signing him if we did.

  25. Look, if a team gets a facility for a rider getting married, why should anything else surprise us,rules and regs in speedway have always been a joke it's heads or tails in most cases and some will always benefit more than others

  26. Could not agree more mate the track and the racing tonight is brilliant

  27. No 8 can replace riders in the 1-5. 6 and 7 have to have 3 rides and they can replace a rider in the 1-5 as well Hopefully the no 8 rule will be binned after this season- it`s a joke rule.

  28. Not sure if we will win play offs (Glasgow) but you are right about Cookie he has been inspirational on and off the track and has brought a magical feelgood about the place, feelgood factor has been missing since last years bust up at Berwick and again when Stewart Dickson quit. Even if we dont win it , the fans go into the off season on a high due to the Cookie factor. We were jealous of that when Cookie was at Edinburgh.

  29. Different promotion. Its not in bvs dna to cheat, which is why floodgate was called out so easily because its not something we do. Poole on the other hand are seasoned cheats so know the system.

  30. THEN why have qualifiers and instead use a competition that is not open to all riders in the world?

  31. He most certainly did and Matt was disappointed as Linus scores were much improved.

  32. Maybe they realised that the rule as it stood was a load of horse pooh and was depriving the public of proper value for money let alone the loss of potential earnings for the Diamonds. Maybe just maybe common sense has prevailed but i doubt it.

  36. If we had Bewley and everyone 100% I'm certain we could run anyone for their money out of the other 3. It'll be interesting to see how we go as it's so wide open, personally, I think it's Glasgow's to lose from what I've seen as of late but never say never and every day is different in the land of Speedway

  37. I know there’s always a lot of competition between ourselves and the Bandits but I’m pleased for both teams doing so well when everyone had written both off at the start of the season

  38. A strange sequence of events, finish top but not before the cut off, finish top and not win the League, finish second and possibly win the League.
    2 points
  39. Workington can still finish top by winning their final two matches. It would be too late to choose your play-off opponents, but will still go down in the league table in the record books.

  40. The thing is we live in different times now when everything is down to money. I was lucky being an Ipswich supporter to have been able to regularly watch the likes of Thomas Gollob, Tony Rickardsson, Denis Sigalas, Peter Moore etc. But Speedway is no different from other forms of entertainment, As a youngster I regularly went to my local theatre and was able to watch a music show with the likes of Cliff Richard, Cilla Black, Tom Jones all on the same bill. I once saw the Beatles and Roy Orbison in the SAME show just for a few pounds, now it costs a fortune to see an ageing rockstar (Rod Stewart) at Portman Road. Comedians like Dave Allen, Des O Connor, Harry Worth used to appear just as comperes, now to see Michael McIntyre I need to take out a mortgage and have to go to the O2 and watch him on a large TV screen. The days of being able to see the stars at our local track will never return, so sadly No, I don' t think it is any longer viable.

  43. Yes I got it wrong the stand in reserves done a lot more than I ever thought they would so a big well done to them and great performances from BWD , Grondal, Barker and MPT but Ostergaard is a big concern for me as I don't believe he's fit and his equipment is no up to it either and could cost us dearly if he carries on like he's done since returning from a serious injury
