You are either on a wind up or being extremely obtuse. Niels has ridden in the UK for fifteen plus years and will have ridden Poole dozens of times, his views on the state of tracks in general not just WR should be listened to and not fobbed off as sour grapes which is nonsense. And he wasn't backtracking at all, just clarifying his comments. Unfortunately you are the same as many Poole fans in that you only care what happens at your track and to hell with the sport in the rest of the country, as long as you are winning all is good. And if anyone says anything critical it is swept under the carpet as meaningless and sour graoes. Fortunately those of us without our heads in the sand can see the bigger picture.7 points

Lets see what is said tonight was at ipswich last night and the whole team just carried on as usual no one seemed overly concerned no body knows what the future will bring but the main thing now is all hammers fans stop whinging and come out to our last 3 home meetings and show the new owners the local council and whoever else we want speedway in essex5 points

Never understood why somebody would disregard live action, fresh air, watching a team you support and a night amongst friends for TV, indoors and sitting usually on your own, watching teams you have no feelings for.5 points

Yes it is a s**t hole but its our s**t hole, if I had Belle Vue or Poole on my doorstep I would go there but I don't, and unlike a lot of football fans, us speedway supporters follow our local teams.4 points

Gavans gone back into mute mode, wonder why?? You must be honest.... the Poole threads are a lot better without him on them. Plenty of banter and a bit of mud slinging but not his usual garbage which is good to see. Maybe the mods could look at banning him from the Premiership section only, leaving him free to post in the Ipswich topics?4 points

Comments about the Poole track were that is was better. It’s essentially like putting more glitter on a plop.4 points

the guy walked out from the tractor area where the public arent allowed carrying a plastic drum with the top cut off and poured it in 4 different places other track staff were with him.do you think a fan has gone through the turnstile carrying an open drum of oil,i always take drinks, sandwiches and chocolate but have to admit never a drum of oil lol4 points

It would be a surprise if all clubs in a tiny 7 team league were not in with a chance of finishing fouth from bottom around the half way stage.4 points

There has to be some form of "official staus" or Chris Holder couldn't come in on a Tier 5, could he? Strange how so many are trying to disparage the efforts of Team GB, MA and Glasgow to kick-start the oldest series of Test Matches in our sport, is it to do with the meeting being 300 miles north of the Watford Gap, d'ye think? Anyway, if the Aussies are to lose a rider, even if he is their current Champion, they do have time to whistle up a good replacement, l'm sure..... It is still going to be a brammer of a meeting!4 points

I know you are right, but just trying to put some positive spin on it, and i do like to have a different opinion to everyone else How's this for an outlandish prediction.....Harvey to score 2 points.4 points

Sponsors put money into many sports but they expect some return on there investment. If this sponsor wants a meeting at Glasgow so what, there are no negatives ? The fans get to see a good match with the 2019 WC leader makinga rare appearance and Glasgow get some great publicity for there sponsorship money. You don't have to go.4 points

It'll be something like: 1) Each top league team will race on their designated race day. There may be a case when there needs to be a special ruling and these are listed in 1.1 below. 1.1 Exceptions; to be made up as we go along, depending on need and who's asking.4 points

isn't it amazing how we see a meeting differently!. I thought there was a lot passing, good close racing and thoroughly enjoyed it.3 points

I think the BSPA is keeping the plans strictly under wraps, in case Poland finds out and copies them3 points

Probably because we are true Speedway supporters and the track is within travelling distance of where we live and unfortunately we do not have various tracks in the area as we did years ago ie West Ham, Hackney, Wimbledon, etc to name but a few. It is far from the best way to see speedway but I'd rather be at Arena Essex that watch no Speedway at all considering we now don't even have Rye House.3 points

Must of just been me then but I enjoyed the meeting and I thought their was plenty of passing. Looked to be a very good crowd and they even had the fans back on the stock car track. Some encouraging words from Cook regarding the clubs future so fingers crossed what he said they are trying to do comes off.2 points

He has started crashing on the way to meetings now, I knew he was prone to the odd accident well several accidents but doing it on the way is taking it to a whole new level.2 points

I’ve looked at it and when you analyse the tangible assets, it could be “good fun” to own a speedway club but, it doesn’t make good business sense. Particularly when you build in the risk factors i.e. unpredictable weather, rider issues (work permits etc), failures of other clubs, the BSPA and of course tv rights etc.2 points

Does this post say it all really,Gloating followed by we don't care about what anyone else thinks. So it's Poole sod all the rest, who cares eh.2 points

Glad to see they've trawled Europe for Heeps's replacement. Now remind me again, who is co-promoter at Redcar? At least we can book the holidays for mid-september & october and be safe in the knowledge we won't miss anything.2 points

46.5 is the total of your current team’s average from the start of year greensheets. While it may be acceptable to allow a rubbish team to continually rebuild to 42.5 on rolling averages, it should also be acceptable for any team that has retained its original seven to rebuild to the starting average that the rubbish team has now assembled (on the proviso that they cannot build to more than Poole’s 46.5 by using only riders that have improved their averages). That would be fair. Swindon, for example, could take their team’s original starting average of 42.24, take out Mitchell Davey’s average of 2.31 (as Smith was an injury replacement), leaving 39.93 and replace Smith with another rider with an original starting average of 46.5 - 39.93 = 6.57 (provided he has not increased it beyond 6.57). So, to equal what Poole have done, Swindon should be allowed to replace Smith with Milik, Michelsen, Lahti, Kennett, Hougard, Barker or Pieszczek That would be fair. #Poole46.5 keep the campaign going lads.2 points

Very disappointing performance from the team tonight. We should have scored at least 60.2 points

Agree. Season is a thriller. Shame about Rye and things need to be sorted this winter but any team can win this season, except perhaps Leicester.2 points

I tend to agree but since when did speedway regs make sense!2 points

Pretty much sums up my feelings at the end of another sad week. Speedway will never go back to it's 'glory' days. They're gone for good and if the promoters and their association don't recognise this and start coming up with a real 21st century entertainment package then five years from now there will be NO professional speedway in this country AT ALL (except a once a year GP.) Do I hold out any hope? After the way my two regular teams have been treated by the BSPA in the last couple of months? What do you think.2 points
-
The only thing strange in speedway would be if they all worked together to actually improve things2 points
-
It is good to watch Speedway on TV if you are unable to get to meetings but without fans through the turnstiles there will be no Speedway to broadcast on TV.2 points

Not a fine, but there's a big presentation made to Stoke every year they manage to complete their fixtures. Not sure what the presentation consists of because I haven't seen it, as I have only followed the sport since 19562 points

Nice comment by Rosco about the track “I must also say I felt the Somerset track was in the best condition I’ve seen it in for a long time. There were some problems the last time we were down there but they’ve obviously done a great deal of work and whilst we can often be quick to criticise, we should also give credit where it’s due because it was really good last night.”2 points

Well happy with that Great rally after a dodgy first 2 heats and a strong finish to hold on Scoreline didnt flatter us but it makes it look easier than it was Possible turning point that Hammers fans could call out was the exclusion of Ellis when 9 times put of 10 Scott wouldve been the one to go Some great races on a well prepared track in front of a big crowd on a lovely night. Whats not to like2 points

First and foremost Congratulations to Scunny on the win last night and victory richly deserved. Onto the Tigers, I refrained from commenting on last weeks shambles as I wanted to see the teams reaction to a meeting with a Scunny side that would give us a massive test. My view is that last night the responsibility lies firmly at the hands of the Heat Leader trio, all three need to take a hard look at themselves as they let the club and the fans down last night that was suppose to be celebration time for the club. Its hard to understand how two out of the three only a few weeks ago brought home a Championship title to the club, and then we get two performances within weeks not good enough I am afraid. The rest of the team for me did okay, Kurtz and Shanes did their jobs, and I refuse to criticise Broc Nichol or Joe Lawler, Broc has been put into a very tough position and Joe actually did a lot better than I anticipated. The rest of the season we now need to make sure that there is no more slip ups at home, we have not got a cat in hell's chance of make the Play Offs and the rest of the season is about pride. For Scunny they may have a chance of making the Play Offs, but injuries could play a major say in whether or not they do.1 point

Fabulous result for Scunny last night. Great to see Danny win a race. It's not actually his first this season - he won races at Redcar and Sheffield earlier in the season.1 point

Well, that's pretty poor thinking! You're based in Scotland, but don't fancy what is, by class of rider, one of the biggest meetings in Britain this year. Right on your doorstep. Where else will you see Tai or Chris H this year? As OveFundinFan said above, major sponsors are to be welcomed, not scorned - and if you don't want to pay a booking fee, just turn up with your cash in hand, and don't pay one.1 point
