Tai had four laps to try and help Robert pass Emil. It would have been better to lose 5-1 trying to do that than lose 4-2 while he clears off. I thought that was the point of pairs riding?8 points

Of course he got his tactics wong. Do you think by shooting off in front for the win he could somehow have won the title for GB? If you think that, you've got it badly wrong too. The only way we could win the title was if he and Lambert could combine to block Emil and get Lambert into 3rd. The winner of the race is irrelevant, the only thing that counts is that the team with the 4th placed rider are the losers. Surely you can see that? No one is criticising Woffinden. He's been the rider of the tournament. His point scoring has been phenomenal all week. HIs team riding has been beyond compare all week. Without him we'd have got nowhere near a silver medal. We're very happy with a silver medal. It's just a fact that he got the tactics wrong in the final race. Slowing down to help Lambert might not have worked, and we may have still ended up with a silver medal.... but it might have worked, and was definitely the thing to try. Anyone who says we shouldn't have tried the only option we had left, is a bit daft.7 points

Come on this is a stupid statement even by your standards... because it would of been hard he shouldnt of tried? What would it of mattered if Emil went past them both7 points
-
Not at all. You're just not thinking clearly I'm afraid. Setting out to do EVERYTHING to 'get' Emil last was the ONLY way to win. Winning The race was NEVER going to win the meeting. Throwing the kitchen sink at Emil would have given them a chance.7 points

Whatever happens now we can be proud of GB. Not often we have had the opportunity to say that.7 points

Fair play to Cook, he could be sulking but he's there patting the boys off and cheering them back in. I think he deserves credit for that.6 points

Stevie Worrall makes his return to the British final. Great news6 points

You don't have be good at speedway to understand what he should have try to have done ...you just need a tad of common sense .5 points

But effectively Tai did nothing to manipulate that situation. It might not have worked, but he didn't try. The only defence for Tai is if Rosco had not fully explain the final scoring system. But despite him CLEARLY getting the tactics wrong in that final race, Tai deserves much, much credit for his work this week.5 points

Anf if Tai had tried to slow Emil down Robert might have done that! Ludicrious decision.5 points

Yes. Today and Yesterday this exact scenario was being discussed at length here. Millik got it wrong on Tuesday. and Tai got it wrong tonight. It doesnt make him a villain and it doesn't detract from everything else he did. He is a Hero. That was established well before the last race. But surely we can still say. He got that one wrong ?4 points

We had at least a silver with a chance of gold. Now going off on your own does very little to help the chance of gold....that was mentioned a number of times before today’s meeting even started.I just wonder why on earth he chose that path rather than helping our chances, even if only slightly.Surely that was the best choice?4 points

He's the best British rider of the past 10 or so years bar none and all credit to him. I think he and Lambert have done us proud. I just think, gamble and unlikely as it may have been it was worth a shot to at least try and help Robert through as we were losing regardless.4 points

Brilliant over the two nights but got the tactics horribly wrong in the final. What on earth was he thinking?4 points

Despite all the gripes about the rules , as a speedway fan I thought it was fantastic entertainment4 points

i have never seen better racing at Wroclaw than we have seen over the last 2 nights.4 points

I think we all agree he’s not a no 1 and been put in a difficult position but the way he was passed in the ht5 and a 3 point score while the rest of the other 6 managed 37 it’s shocking don’t agree with the comments with regards to you know what your getting, this isn’t a Lindgren bashing as I’ve defended him plenty in the past but any other rider in any other team would be in for serious criticism for a performance like that and he should not be spared that because it is simply not good enough for someone of his experience,as I’ve already said he’s been put in a difficult position due to the team build up but it should not be used as an excuse to get 3 points especially as captain4 points

THE same one that left Lambert out of a race which might, come Heat 21 this evening, prove critical. It is the riders who do the business, 100 per cent credit to Tai and Robert.4 points

If last night proved anything it's that the 4-3-2-0 SHOULDN'T be brought back. There has been some brilliant racing under the standard system with rider's fighting hard to get to the front. With the 4-3-2-0 rider's would just sit 2nd & 3rd and any decent racing would be null and void. Never should the 4-3-2-0 scoring system be used again.4 points

Quite possibly. If they can pull it off tonight AND with Tai looking like this could easily be another World Championship winning year ... surely the idea that he be called the greatest British rider ever is actually just around the corner ?4 points

Just read the speedway star laura telling it like it is which is nice i hope things turn out ok for her and the club, she says MOST riders are understanding of the situation and trust her 100% hope the doubters keep calm and do there best for her .4 points

Well done to the Comets, they fully deserved to qualify as top of the borders group, no complaints from this Glasgow fan, shame on some Edinburgh fans delighting in the fact that their team lost and Glasgow losing out in qualifying, rather than giving credit to the Comets, as they have done the hard work by winning on track.4 points

What a performance by Woffinden! That must go down as possibly the greatest performance of all time by a British rider. Stunning. Of course, Sod's law says that this is the meeting that goes ovrr 2 days and all comes down to a final, sonthere's a long way to go yet. Lambert was brilliant too, and his gating was top draw, making things a lot easier. I really enjoyed the meeting, but it's no World Cup. What a shame they can't at least call it a World Championship. The size of the crowd, even in Poland, must tell them something.4 points

On another note,I hope Tai now goes on to win the world title this year and Lambert the I21 title and tomorrow we have all 3 riders qualified for the European 250cc final. The future.as o said before looks promising3 points

I'm also woman enough to hold my hands up and see him in a totally different light. Out of all the riders over the last two days, who out f them bust their guts more that Woffinden? Who out of them looked after a team mate more? He has been exemplary in attitude, riding and publicly. IMO he did absolutely nothing wrong in that final. We didn't get a gold medal and for some reason it's all down to him. Do me a favour FFS!3 points

If that were true, Rosco is utterly inept as team manager and doesn't understand the rules of the tournament.3 points
-
IF it was race winner takes all in the final we wouldn't be having this discussion and Tai would be a hero. Have never agreed with second and third trumping first.3 points
-
This Tai criticism is bloody ridiculous. 38 points out of 39 with team riding all week. It wouldnt be easy slowing Emil down to let Lambert through, it was a gamble either way.3 points
-
Tai did nothing wrong Gb store the most points over two days but end up finishing second try explaining that to someone in the pub watching for the 1st time it's the bloody idiot s who make the stupid rules up but that's speedway run by baboons3 points
-
What was going on in the last heat ? why did Woffy try to win it rather that trying to help Lambert ...as normal all about himself ...then after the race he's starts doing wheelies like we won . At least we can look forward to seeing him at the British Final on Monday3 points

That is tough to take , but we can be proud of our boys . Speedway the winner though , that was fantastic3 points

The basic format has been good, but there should be just a couple of tweeks. Teams should only be in the competition if they turn up with 3 riders and the winners should be the team with most points, no semi final and final please.3 points

Why? It's pretty clear he has little influence now. Tai has brought about the changes, things are being done how he suggested... and look at the difference.3 points

CAN a ny one deny that two riders from the same country in a race takes the biscuit. No matter what the competition is called, this is a team event in every sense3 points

There doesn't seem to be many positive vibes going on here, seems plenty are looking for reasons why we will lose out to the devious Poles. Time for some Tub-thumping I think, we're in a fantastic position and are well capable of consolidating it from the off tonight, , Come on lads, bring it home..3 points

They have track covers in at Wroclaw today, they said it’s to stop the track baking in the sun but really we know it’s to stop Phil Morris getting near it with the water bowser3 points

looks like you had an enjoyable away meeting up north ! well done for having the time and effort to support an away fixture . you have to be one of few who travel to away meetings now . hope you enjoyed it .3 points

PETER Collins remaining unbeaten (admittedly four rides each time) in. three successive World Team Cup Finals remains a fantastic achievement.3 points

Robert really is coming of age this season, what a brilliant performance from him last night helped by some absolute wizardry by Tai. My only concern is setting his bike up for the inside every time is leaving him vulnerable to outside runs as we saw once or twice last night. Excellent race track once some dirt moved out, let's hope they don't compromise that in an effort to assist the below par Poles this evening.3 points
