Every year in speedway rules are made to please riders, the sport is effectively run by riders , the fixed race night to please some top riders and to avoid the clashes in the cancer that is doubling up so riders can still double up, not giving a thought to fans just worrying about their bank balance, until people realise the sport is there for fans we will keep making stupid decisions and killing the sport bit by bit, the next AGM should have the words TEAM and FANS on billboards across the room maybe then someone might grasp what the sport is about12 points

I always try and post without Stars specs on and I can honestly say if this were Brady Kurtz having to have a fortnight off I wouldn't want Poole to go without a facility. The two weeks need to begin and end somewhere, it was inevitable that it would start directly after a GP and/Poland as they will always be riders priorities. He is missing Swedish matches and the whole of SoN not just the UK and we are hardly strengthened by his absence. I don't believe there is any mickey taking going on and nor would it do anyone any good to have three points riding at number one for anybody.4 points

If that is intended to be a dig I think such criticism from Buxton is laughable. (Get up to Buxton when I can but from what I have seen 2 hour plus meetings are a regular event there). Irony alert!! One of the breaks in racing today was a presentation to the track staff (from a referees poll?) that gave the tractor team a mark of 99.98% over the season!! Yes, it did go on for a time but on a scorching day there wasn't one heat that generated any dust to speak of. And the racing was out of this world!4 points

Genuine question - where the hell is Poole Bolton ? He stopped posting around the time you were called out, so i'm just checking, on welfare grounds, obviously in case you know him. He's been logging in and out of the forum it seems, just not posting... odd that.4 points

You’re an idiot then and I hope you get pulled over sooner rather than later.3 points

And this comes down to points I’ve made before, riders attitudes need to change and there needs to be strict controls on bikes, sure riders will kick and scream as they always do but there is no other way, their way of I want my living and all the trappings that go with it and I don’t care where the money comes from has all but gone bankrupt, it’s them who have pushed the costs up with their excess not the fans, the sport is living beyond its means and has been for a while , nobody wants to see riders earn less but this is the real world not the protected bubble that riders and their sycophants live in and it has no more money3 points

Same old one liner from you Starman. All people are concerned with is that the correct rule is adhered to as regards riders riding in their proper positions tonight.3 points

For U.K. Speedway to survive & even prosper it has have CREDIBILITY riders missing meetings with very flimsy excuses should no longer be tolerated. Fine the rider & the team "say" £250 each, if it happens again DOUBLE the fine. I also find it unbelievable that the BSPA own website portray the use of guest as a news item! can this please be stopped ASAP. I have said this before, if say 3 riders of the same team are known not to be available meetings should be rearranged.3 points

Whatever Niels does will be wrong in some people's eyes. If he rode tonight there would be some saying he should ride on Tuesday in Sweden and Wednesday at kings lynn .If he has to have treatment then he has to have treatment. end of. Racing speedway is his livelihood and so with that in mind I'm pretty sure he will take time out when it has the least impact.3 points
-
Good point - double the fine! Apparently it's Matej Kus mechanic doing the work - cue the pilot looking down at the engine every 30 seconds if for some strange reason it doesn't take off as quickly as usual.3 points

Iversen should be taken to a public place, shackled by the feet and hands, and forced to eat 235 dry Weetabix biscuits for committing this outrage against this country and it's fine citizens3 points

Just to add, if Poole had of done what King's Lynn are doing there would be absolute outrage. I think the Rye fans have every right to feel short changed and mugged off.3 points

The last bank holiday meeting was near perfect - a huge crowd, cracking meeting and Chase the Ace strutting his stuff. I can only see this being even better3 points

Driving home. Good to chat with him and the other Poole fans tonight. Something of a lucky escape for Wolves, somehow pulling it out with just six race winners. But there you go, nothing like a last-gasp 5-1 in front of your biggest crowd of the season!2 points

For years Poole fans ( only a handful) have polluted other threads with their unwarranted insults about teams/riders. Fans of these teams feel the need to “give it back” and thus they rock up on the Poole thread. It doesn’t happen with other teams as in the main they stick to their own threads or contribute to the discussion when they do visit. Its amusing that some Poole fans think, look at all the interest in our thread when in fact it’s as a result of their few moronic contributors stirring up trouble. Block ‘em.2 points

You say 2018 champs but I think that will be Belle Vue or Swindon but Wolves will be top 4 in my opinion. But your entitled to your opinion and it’s a valid one that Wolves will be 2018 champs. Im not sure how Wolves can meet Poole in the play offs unless I’ve missed a rule change that 3rd and 4th meet 7th or 8th2 points

Sadly you don’t have to be a lawyer to realise that Chris isn’t being able to see his son for something he has done/said or been accused of doing & if in the hands of the CPS then he might not be allowed into Britain?. Hope he gets it sorted as a Dad because speedway isn’t worth much compared to his son.2 points

If Paul is clearly injured like you state, why is he allowed to ride.Who makes those decisions. Its costing the Team if that is the case.2 points

Just seen on the Leicester website that they call today's condition 'a dusty track' OK, they want to look for excuses for such a dismal performance but it does Simon Stead (was it his quote I wonder?) no credit to suggest a dusty track was to blame. Fact: The track staff did a terrific performance to ensure that the track was NOT dusty. Sorry Simon you need to look elsewhere for your team's showing rather than criticise the Belle Vue track staff.2 points

Gavan. Shanes was sacked because he didn't do a job.....End of story. Morris has been inconsistent like Brady Kurtz.....End of story. Not replying anymore because you are having one of your day's. Maybe it's the weather getting to you.....I don't know.2 points

What would make sense is for Rye House to drop down, Ipswich and Sheffield to move up, and the top flight switch from Wednesdays to Thursdays.2 points

I think it was a dig but who cares. The constant watering meant that the meeting took longer than usual but also ensured that the track stayed in superb condition, no mean feat on a steaming hot day. All credit to the track staff and no surprise that they took track of the year for both the Premiership and NL. You will have to explain to a Buxton fan what a track without dust is like because he won't know . Despite the scoreline, there was (as usual )some fantastic racing - particularly Bewley's brilliant ride in heat 9 and heat 14 with three abreast in the first couple of laps (suspect Etheridge needed to change his race suit when Tungate missed him by a whisker). Belle Vue were brilliant but they shouldn't get carried away as I thought Leicester were rubbish. What on earth was up with King ? He never looked like beating anyone.2 points

if it had been any other team in the league nothing would have been said , but because its Poole all hale lets out, shame he doesn't worry about his championship team2 points

I can guarantee every team in the league would be happy to have him but luckily our promotion can see past his gating. If ever a kid gave 100% it’s Josh.... defo Mr entertainer yesterday when both incidents were caused by hitting holes in the track Now on to pulling off a huge surprise for the fans of both teams....... Yesterday made me very proud of our boys. Right attitude and attacked the track as was required. An unexpected beautiful Sunday Best wishes to Max2 points

You don’t expect him to score 5 or 6? So what do you expect him to get then? and yes you wanted Sundstrom it’s the way Poole built their team. The fact is Sundstrom and the others haven’t done the business so they sacked Shanes. Swindon have built their team the same way with a weak number 7. Thing is that the other 6 are doing their jobs so Swindon are fine with a Davey or Smith getting 2 or 3. Shanes was the victim of the other dross at Poole2 points

Always good to see riders flying in Poland and then be bang average over here. Form in Poland means nothing Kurtz does well out there and Morris doesn’t but in Uk speedway you would have Morris everytime Same as I said at the start of the season re Woryna and Ellis. Woryna may look good in Poland but over here you would have Ellis And yes I would rather have Bellego in my team then Klindt by a mile. Ask the Workington fans what they think of Klindt! Bellego consistently averaging above 7 from second string and is 5 rides from the GP. Or Klindt who if he doesn’t gate just goes round at the back and is even struggling in the championship...... but he beat him in Poland so he must be good enough lol.2 points

Also to add, from the 7 Stars fixtures this season only 3 have had their full team. After this week it's gonna be 3 from 9. Considering we're on fixed race night it's disgraceful. So, while the form looks good, it may not have been so good if the full team were available2 points

The downside of social media , folk quick to point the finger in the aftermath of disappointment . We dont want a Poole thread , so reality check time . Cup shocks happen in every sport , where the wee diddy team gets the big team on a bad day and springs an upset . That's all that happened yesterday , no need to panic just yet . It' how we respond to yesterday that matters , we have a toughie on Friday against Scunthorpe and that will be extremely tricky . AS for the cup ...........c'mon the Bandits2 points

Sorry to disagree with what appears to be the majority but live sport of any sort against seeing it on TV is a no brainer to me. See it live every time! What I don't understand is during the winter and early months of the year this forum was full of posts on how the BSPA needed to have Speedway on TV to help save the sport but reading many posts now TV appears to stop the fans from going! To all those fans who don't go because of TV, please don't complain when your track and the whole sport closes down because if it does it will be those who stayed away who are a large part of the cause. Hope you all see some great live racing today, I will be at Rye House.2 points

As it happens, despite Redcar not really being there, there was some decent race especially when Barker was in it, or when the Diamonds missed the gate and when Dolan had to double overtake Stewart in the same race. Good stuff. I agree with some who have sympathy with the Redcar promotion who would expect their riders to do their best to get to a meeting, and in this case natural elements stopped 2 riders getting there, but a touch of Bykeritis probably prevented the other from getting there. Just pleased that Newcastle could help them and Redcar gave Championship League time to both Gavin and Josh. Gavin riding with a cocxyc injury from a big off at a practice session at Redcar yesterday, and Josh, who was already down to ride in the second half, and completed both commitments. Crowd was down with virtually no-one there from Redcar but with probably only a few home fans stayed away. Some good hard charging around the boards later on and plenty of overtaking. It could have been a disaster but it was not a bad meeting overall even though the result was never going to be in doubt. Normally overjoyed when we stuff the Bears, but I was entertained and could feel sorry for their plight. I just think the number of times we nearly had the same experience when the likes of Pep Franc, due in at 3.00pm from Czecho was delayed, we could have been in the same boat. NB Just though I should have mentioned the excellent offer that Promoter Kevin Keay made last night. As a compensation for his low average side, he asked the fans to keep their admission tickets, and on their next visit to the STMP circuit admission would only be £10.2 points

Well well well, that was very unexpected after going 9 down I thought it was going to be a long afternoon how wrong was I. Fantastic comeback and unlucky to not win by more. Track was a bit dodgy with the holes on bends 1 and 3, Worrall certainly wasn’t happy about it. Feeling smug again and not seen Ashfield empty that quick for a little while, what a lovely Sunday afternoon.2 points

They used to get criticised for running the club on a shoestring and lack of investment. A case of damned if you do damned if you don't. Most seem to applaud investment in the sport and reportedly the lion's share (er, tiger's share) of the money invested at Glasgow has gone into buying the stadium and its renovation. The Glasgow promotion are also reported to be aiming to break even on regular costs, and in any case it isn't like football, you can't just buy your way to title success and do a Chelski or a Man Utd or Man City and buy all the best riders, in speedway the points limit sees to that.2 points

Im going with a home win of around 6 as Leicester look a good side and one that can go really well around the NSS, if Cook shows any negative reaction from Prague and the Lions are all on it they could even nick it as we can make things difficult for ourselves at times.1 point
