  1. I have followed the youth scene for a while and thing's are looking pretty good for the future and for me Neil Vatcher is a unsung hero he has really pushed us on as a nation. He does a great job his enthusiasm is infectious and it would be great if a few Brits can crack it and actually go on and have good speedway career's.Lambert leading the way Bewley improving by the minute and the likes of Saunders,Kemp,Flint,Rowe,Atkins, (etc) doing great the future looks exciting just thought Neil deserves lots of credit.

  2. No problem there; personally I've always regarded 16-year-old Kyle's 2018 spot as an extended training session to gain Championship experience and learn the circuits he doesn't visit with the Colts. It should all stand him in good stead for 2019 with Workington, I hope. Young, talented and local -- what's not to like? The Comets management have consistently declared that winning or losing as a club is up to the other six and that Kyle (who only takes up two points in the team building anyway) is there to learn, so fair play to them for that. As captain, Proctor (and what a joy it is to see his current form) has already declared that a big part of his job is to help the less experienced riders. Actually, all that would still apply even if you reversed the Alwalton scoreline -- if a team is built for strength in depth, as with Workington, and doesn't perform you don't start narrowing your eyes and taking sidelong looks at the British two-pointer. What are we, Poole?

  3. the kids still learning. only just turned 16 @ the start of the season we will give him all the time he needs to progress in the sport .we have a good other 6 team members who can carry him and help him on his way . i remember neil collins @ wucky when he came , pretty poor , last places were the norm . then one meeting away @ weymouth . it all cane together . the rest is history . we are not a hire and fire club who drop riders cos they cant compete . it we were , we would have binned the fecker sarje . but the rule say we couldnt . kyle is doing alright and one day it will all come together .

  4. 2 months and not sorted. I have no problem with name and shame!

  5. He’s been dreadful. Again, a pale shadow of the rider that stepped up last season. Unlike Hume though, hasn’t got the excuse of coming back from a bad injury. Just coming back a stone or two overweight! His talent isn’t in question, his dedication and professionalism is though unfortunately.

  7. and yet some say we need the stellar names - we don't, we need riders who the crowd identify with and grow to love.

  8. Its a little harsh to say 'all the hype' - I don't recall much of that. There's no doubt he is struggling but its a massive step up from the NL. I can only hope the Comets don't drop him because riding at Championship level will only help him improve and they won't get anyone else to score more on the same average. As to the result, fingers crossed this will pull a few more in at Comets home matches as they simply don't get enough.

  9. Yep, it was a terrific performance by your boys. They blew Panthers away, especially from the gate. You're entitled to be chuffed, and even to gloat a bit. But it's a shame you added that little barb about Scotty. He's been on top form for Panthers, and even tonight he was the best of the (admittedly pi55poor) bunch tonight. If Panthers can't finish top - which, at the mo, looks highly unlikely - I'll be rooting for the Comets based on that performance.

  11. Good meeting. Have to say Warsaw has overtaken Cardiff now. Packed stadium and great atmosphere. You've got to admire the Poles, they really love and support Speedway.

  12. Well, tonight the texter on Speedway Updates seemed to find some good racing...

  13. He will be much worse than Bomber as on tonights effort he isn't willling to go where he may get hurt. If he gets 5pts in any GP meeting he will have gone above my expectation. At this level crashing is part of the deal. I want him to do well but doubt he will. I can see Lambert being picked for Manchester.

  15. Well done to woffinden, rode some smart moves and a couple of brave ones when it mattered

  16. Jog on Fred, it's a GP thread, there's plenty of other avenues for your jibes.

  17. Who was the rather milf type lady being interviewed on Polish TV after heat 16? A big speedway fan is she? Just asking for a friend.

  18. hope this is wrong but the racing is so tight I'm thinking that there will be more crashes than ever in 2018. Feel sad for Pedersen as he cant hold the bike. He has been in excellent form but not tonight.

  20. Presumably it's down to her to grab someone relevant to interview, and since she's never been to a speedway meeting before, she just grabbed any rider at random?

  21. What the @@@@ was that interview with Iversen?

  22. How many times will Kelv and Nige say - 'Cooks got a hard heat coming up here'. He won't have an easy one, it's the GP's!

  25. Yes Worrall for Holder. We go from strength to strength! Worrall a second string at best replacing a world champion. We are going to get a pasting on Monday and possibly Wednesday as well.

  26. Good to see a British rider and Belle Vue asset being given an opportunity to race in the PL. I hope he does well.

  27. Bit unfair to call them gutless. They don't choose not to win races. They only delivered what many suspected that they would at some point, not helped by a gaters paradise. It's ok saying that we warned them of track conditions and that they should have adapted but they were up against better quality all round and it's no good asking them to do a job that's beyond them.

  28. by the way... thanks for the travelling fans from Coventry, it was great to see you all.

  29. Listening to the team manager speaking on local radio and hearing how this team had silenced the doubters .... Sorry Carl, they are shouting again!! Not one Panther could get out of the start and to be honest not one looked fast enough when behind! In 42 years it's difficult to remember a more convincing home hammering Well done Workington, only team to turn up, bet you wish the 4's were here!!

  30. You are supporting the wrong team - the Poole mantra is win at all costs (and crow about how much better you are than all other teams) Not working out too well with a limited number of replacements willing to step in.

  31. swindon was loyal last season to there riders and won the league . is that all you go to speedway for is to win i find that sad still never mind onward and upwards

  32. Sorry about that - just a bit too out of shape nowadays!

  33. Ignore the attention seeker Coombers. It’s KkS doing his/her usual thing.

  34. And yet you see, that’s everything that’s wrong with Poole. Instead of this ludicrous cut throat attitude of winning at all costs, you should stick by your riders and accept a bad spell or even a bad season and get a bit of loyalty. How many times will you sign the likes of Grajczonek, Sundstrom, Howarth, Newman and Shanes and then sack them at the drop of a hat? It’s about time riders stood up to Matt and said “no thanks, I don’t want to ride for you” ........ oh, hang on, they are!

  36. My thoughts are that being on Wednesdays rather than Thursdays is proving to be a major problem now that the Danish league has got going. Somebody somewhere should have had more balls.

  37. So what am I meant to say? We are doing great? The team has done badly. On paper it looked good and all the pundits and most on here thought the same. But riders have massively underperformed. Holder is needed urgently. Showed what he can do in the GP tonight and his inclusion can’t come fast enough.

  40. Engine set ups can be changed during the meeting but it's not an exact science, more part luck and part black art, with no time to practice and you have have the bike running perfectly , sometime with only a few minutes to spare before your next race. Andreas Jonsson once said to me you can get your bike running well, then you try to tweak it a little to get a bit more power from it but that makes it worse , so you try putting it back to where it originally was and that seems to be no better either. Of course, as you suggest , confidence comes into it as well. If a rider gets beaten badly it's sometimes difficult to know whether it's him or the bike. Or Worky coukd have just been a better team on the night.

  42. Richie Worrall is a very good signing for Poole. Although in for Holder / Kildermand I think he'll keep his place when Holder comes in. Poole will be replacing Sundstrom and 1 other. Once all is sorted out Poole will come back stronger Kurtz Grajczonek Worrall ??? Holder Woryna / Szczepaniak ???

  43. I'm fine with you calling me Ross Bennett. I was called Tom Turner the other week. If you can give me a heads up on who I am next week then it would be much appreciated. Thank you. Oh and you have your head so far up Holder's backside its embarrassing.

  45. If this was football, the manager would be long sacked by now. Got to wonder how Arsene Muddleditch is hanging on after overseeing another year of abject failure and another season over before June. Shovvy and Starman told us how Fat Maud had handed Muddlo a team full of ringers who would probably win the league without dropping a point, but Muddlo has cocked it up again. Time to fall on his cutlass.

  46. He also could replace a rider who may not be there much longer .never let us down last season ?

  47. Learning point for PB, dont prepare a super bare slick track when Worky are the visitors, thats like a home meeting for them. Edit - just seen PB's fixture list. Get the track knee deep for Sunday, a bit of home track advantage can only be good.
