With all the early call offs there must be an agreement between clubs to save as much as they can.. And to be fair, myself and around 500 others I am sure would have given tonight a swerve if the weather looked ropey.. The sad thing is not one rider there tonight would attract 500 extra punters over and above the usual crowd yet the weather will remove 500 due to the fact we have all felt conned in the past by getting meetings on at all cost or watching nonsense racing to get a result... The irony is that using just a fraction of the TV money over the years for track covers would, I am sure, have given greater confidence to those 500 to attend, as more chance of a meeting being on if all the rain has fell pre start time, yet millions have been spent on riders who have very little impact on the crowd levels.. A strange business model indeed...3 points

I don't think you will have to worry about the PL matches finishing that quick! It rained all the way through so the sensible thing to do was get a move on if the match was to be completed. Well done to all involved. If it had been a PL match we would have been waiting around in the rain to see if the riders were going to come out for the next race ~ an hour's delay to see if the rain would ease off ~ then home soaking wet after seeing 10 heats .........if we're lucky.3 points

Hmmm, I tend to agree with you however reading back your wording on some of your posts i would suggest you reign it in a little. The guys who were posting are decent reliable who don't post BS. Yes we were all concerned about Doyle but there are many people on here who know the Polish scene very well and have direct connects into the meetings and deserve respect and not to be sniped at. HenryW and Racers and Royals are certainly two people who know what they are talking about and don't deserve snarky remarks. Anyway we are all glad he is ok and we move on......3 points

The Coventry meeting yesterday had no effect on the decision to postpone the Leicester vs Poole meeting tonight. The forecast has always been for constant rain in Leicester from lunchtime continuing all day which has proved accurate so correct decision. I am sure most of the riders will be glad of the early decision too as although most will have still flown back into the U.K. this morning they can go straight to their U.K. bases to relax rather than travel all the way up to Leicester for the meeting to be called off2 points
-
Nothing is the answer. If you live in Leicester you will know that it started raining at 12.30pm and hasn't stopped since so it was a good decision to call this off early. The fact there was racing on the circuit yesterday makes no difference to the amount of rain that's fallen. It would still be soaking wet if the track had stood empty all day and you can't prepare it when it's chucking it down with rain.2 points

Oh Didums. I sussed you out a long time ago and you can’t handle the fact I call you a Poole hating troll with never anything good to say about the club. Proved by the fact you are really only ever on the Poole threads and rarely venture anywhere else.2 points

I am neutral speedway fan of over 40 years and I was on the 1st Bend. No one was 'clamped' on the kerb. Watch the video. The point of contact was just slightly over half way across the track as I was stood directly in line with it. JBA did drift wider than he had done in the 3 previous laps however you could argue he was slightly in front, maybe. However, what is certain is that he did know that Worrall was on his outside and he did clip him. Not necessarily on purpose but certainly enough for Worrall to be offset and then with no where to go when the bike straightened up. Worrall looked really good up this point and proper #1 for Scunthorpe so I hope he gets better soon.2 points

When you have such huge gaps in the fixtures it makes sense to run meetings profitably in good weather than struggle through in front of a pitiful crowd and lose a packet. Supporters have seen too many 10 heat scrambles or call-offs once they've paid their money and avoid meetings when the weather is doubtful. Decades of neglecting customers and "we've not had a drop of rain all day" messages are now coming home to roost.2 points

To be honest you know nothing about Wolves finances, which were boosted by another semi-final and grand final appearance aswell as the home leg of the KO cup final at the end of last season. You are adding 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. The decision to go with Jacob as our number 1 was mainly to do with averages as we wanted to keep the core of the team as stable as possible although admittedly a little bit to do with the uncertainty over the BT tv deal.Had we gone with Freddie and his average the rest of the team would have been compromised. Also I did my bit last season, took a friend with me midway through last season and he didn't miss a home meeting after that, regularly taking his family with him2 points

The track may not be the everyone's cup of tea but i don't think there is much wrong with the stadium. Personally i have enjoyed my trips to Monmore and hope to continue to do so.2 points

If we take the number of times a team's riders have been chosen, and use this as a form guide, the league table should finish as:- 35 Birmingham 33 Mildenhall 30 Belle Vue 26 Eastbourne 14 Kent 10 Coventry 6 Plymouth 2 Buxton 2 Isle of Wight 2 Stoke2 points

Thought I'd do a bit of analysis on which riders are being picked most often. Not surprisingly, the highly rated 3.00 riders are most popular and fill 3 of the top 4 places. (Kyle Bickley being the only non-3.00 rider in the top 4 picks). Adam Roynon is the highest averaged rider to be picked. chosen by 2 people on 9.67. (Max Clegg, Luke Bowen and Ben Morley are other 9+ riders to be picked twice). 23 teams entered means 161 places available (160, as one person picked a rider who isn't in a NL team). But out of those 160 place, only 32 riders have been chosen. They are (with number of times chosen) :- 21 Drew Kemp 18 Jason Edwards 17 Kyle Bickley 17 Leon Flint 10 Jack Smith 9 Danyon Hume 8 Mitchell Davey 7 Jack Thomas 6 Danny Phillips 6 Jordan Jenkins 4 Jamie Halder 3 Tom Brennan 3 Georgie Wood 3 Henry Atkins 3 Danny Ayres 3 Taylor Hampshire 2 Ben Morley 2 Matt Marson 2 Max Clegg 2 Charlie Brooks 2 Luke Bowen 2 Adam Roynon 1 Josh Bailey 1 Alex Spooner 1 Layne Cupitt 1 Tom Perry 1 Richard Andrews 1 Connor Coles 1 David Wallinger 1 Anders Rowe 1 Joe Lawlor 1 Ben Woodhull2 points

I’m perfectly happy to call out Redcar fans and riders when I think they are in the wrong. Every team has fans whose behaviour doesn’t reflect well on the team. If I thought JBA’s move was wilfully designed to cause Worrall harm I would say so but in my opinion it wasn’t.1 point

Stevie Worrall is gonna be wondering why his ears are burning so much!!!1 point

Worrall last year was our best rider in the WTC final he mixed it very well when others were well off the pace . A six point average right he would of put at least a point on last years average no problem now that has been dented because of the injury he got at Scunny the other night. Now he will do well to get back in action within 3 months the comments you made about Steve shows you odviously no nothing about Worrall's ability.1 point

Like all trolls, you're trying to change the subject once your flimsy 'argument' has been taken apart. Get back in your cave! #NeverForget #Worrall161 point

You have counted bonus points which are not in a riders average.1 point

@Gavan Give us more than one score by Worrall at Wimborne Road then? It's pretty f'n simple. Preferably his last 6+ performances - that should be a solid benchmark to work out what his form is like riding at Poole... Or, keep bleating on like a broken record, stuttering the same old misinterpretations and falsehoods?1 point

Speedway, a sport built around rider's average score, but all it really boils down to is your last match [in Gavan's mind, when it suits him]. Maybe we should scrap averages, and just build teams based on one-match CMAs? Is this where the sport has being going wrong!?1 point

Best ignore Flange, he trolls every Wolves thread with bile and nonsense. I've lost count the amount of people I've taken along to watch racing at Monmore. Peter Adams is right, and that goes for every track and every supporter. The product we have is as superb as it's always been. I'm a proud supporter of British Speedway and I love showing newbies what it's all about. Sadly however those that run our sport are ensuring they cipher more and more of the last standing fan brigade with totally ambiguous sets of rules that change at will. We almost have to drag as many as possible to make up for those true fans who say enough is enough. Sad really.1 point

You have not got a clue have you Worrall this year had started like a steam train he is near on impossible to replace on that average.Away from home he will be greatly missed and it is a massive blow to him and the gelling of the team i have followed Steve's progress ever since he had his year with the Robins to say he won't be missed is utter tosh.As for Fricke i will judge his form around Wimborne Rd when they have a proper racetrack to race on not one that has pot holes on the first two bends as big as Cricket balls. When are you on holiday ??? the sooner the better it will be nice to get a totally unbiased home report on meeting's for a change anyone bar you will do nicely.1 point

LUKOIL FIM ICE SPEEDWAY GLADIATORS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT 5, HEERENVEEN, NETHERLANDS, SATURDAY & SUNDAY, APRIL 7/8 SUNDAY, FINAL 10 Koltakov 21 (15+3+3), Ivanov 19 (14+3+2), Valeev 16 (13+2+1), Haarahiltunen 14 (12+2+0), Zorn 12 (11+1), Khomitsevich 10 (9+1), S. Svensson 9 (9+0), N. Svensson 7 (7+fd), Olsen 6, Pletschacher 6, Simon 5, Klatovsky 4, Weber 3, Ledstrom 2, Iwema 2, Schaap 1, Tuinstra 0, Reitsma 0 Semi Final 1: Koltakov, Haarahiltunen, Khomitsevich, S. Svensson Semi Final 2: Ivanov, Valeev, Zorn, N. Svensson (fd) Final: Koltakov, Ivanov, Valeev, Haarahiltunen OVERALL (*= Wildcard) Koltakov 202, Ivanov 167, Khomitsevich 154, Haarahiltunen 115, Valeev 98, Zorn 76, Simon 75, Karachintsev 68, N. Svensson 60, Olsen 58, Klatovsky 47, S. Svensson 44, Ledstrom 44, Weber 39, Iwema 23, Kononov* 22, Bauer 15, Pletschacher* 11, Niedermaier* 10, Ebner 10, Schaap* 4 And thats it! Koltakov had dominated this seaason, and no-one really came close. Ivanov looked a bit miffed with another silver, whilst Khomitsevich dropped points on his rival when he took out the bales in one heat. Biggest revelation was Martin Haarahiiltunen who is the most exciting western rider since Franky Zorn burst onto the scene. In one heat today he held Koltakov in second for a lap or so, before Dimon passed him. He isn't afraid of the Russians and his success is dragging in new Swedes to the Ice. Iwema had a nightmare home GP, but he needs to sort his bikes for next season, Schaap got to find out how good the ISG series is, and talking to him, he wants to be in it. On a personal note, it was good to catch up with many of the British and other old riders there, and to catch up with Steve again, who braved the dark streets of Heerenveen on a push bike. Hope the pics with Dimon came out well.1 point

About 350 I would guess, which considering the weather (rained all the way through) is pretty good and it will only get better once the sun starts shining and word gets around about how good the racing is. Really enjoyed it and all credit to the lads who got stuck in despite the rain and tricky track to produce some great racing which was on a par to any PL match I've been to.1 point

James Shanes style entering corners is/will hold him back. He sort of throws the bie into a corner and while it will get him so far, his stle does have limitations. Trouble is how do you completely change your racing style? Much easier said than done.1 point

He was having a great tussle with Jonas B Andersen.. Stevie had come from last to first.... then to second.. then back into first... then Jonas clipped him on bend 2 lap 4, that straightened Stevie up and he ended up going head on into the air fence. Nasty crash.. pure racing incident. Jonas was disqualified as primary cause, perhaps somewhat unfortunately. Just very hard racing from both lads.1 point
