A terrible precedent that was set a few years ago when Poole called off a meeting against Lakeside as it would affect their planned team changes.6 points

On my hour long walk to work at 4:50 (to Wolverhampton) this morning, the contents of approximately 1400 showers emptied themselves over me on said walk. I was convinced this was rain as it was so wet. However, after consulting with a wonderful thing called technology, this assured me that in fact, this was not the case & I was clearly mistaken. Hope that clears things up.5 points

Godden engines have been around since 1978. This hasn’t just been thrown together, it’s a continuation of development since the mk1. I love the fact that there’s certain people willing to shoot this down without knowing what they’re talking about. Youre online, go and find out some facts about what’s going on before coming on here and making yourself look stupid.4 points

A sample of the summer surrender due to football's World Cup and BSI events: Jun/July scheduled SGBP/KOC meetings: Belle Vue: - 3x SGBP - + Britishb Final & Speedway of Nations (World Pairs) qualifier King's Lynn: 4 (3 July, only 1 in June) Leicester: 4 (+ 4 reserved dates) Poole: 5 Rye House: 4 (+1 junior championship) Somerset: 6 (+ SGBC Pairs) Swindon: 6 (+1 reserved date) Wolverhampton: 3 Given that the survey covers about 9 weeks in many cases it's grim reading. Then we get the rush in August/early September so that four tracks can close nearly two months before the official end of the season.3 points

Hopefully all clubs promotions will now look into the forum as regards future postponements. If they can contact Steve Shovlar he will tell them exactly what the weather will do 48 hrs prior to each and every clubs home matches. He will detail exactly whether any rain will hit any tracks in those 48 hrs.And on this evidence clubs will know 100% whether to postpone or not.So thanks must go to SS for saving speedway a small fortune in the future.3 points

Please don't assume all Poole supporters are this arrogant, sometimes afraid to admit who I support.3 points

Plenty of dirt for the riders to collect and use to garden at the gate. Imagine out the pits onto the motoX track to the highest point wave to the crowd collect a bucket of dirt while your up there and then off to the starting gate to deposit the dirt in your selected rut ( while maintaining full control of the bike at all times)2 points

We could have had Jack back looks a steal on his current average but Matt Ford didn't want him back this season. I think Newman is good value on his average too but there are reasons why those two arnt back and its got nothing to do with their ability on a bike2 points

We've just been overhauling these fixtures; and because of the way it all falls into place (ie; where we will be geographically on certain days) baring a rain off we don't miss a single fixture Home or Away until potentially ? - 23 June Lakeside Away - and we might end up there as well ? !. Cannot remember a Speedway season where we have felt this "motivated" not to miss a single second ! "SCUNNY GRAND TOUR" - gets underway Friday "under the lights" v Redcar ! - blooming 'ummer this is exciting !2 points

You just cant make up the garbage that comes from Shovlar, including now telling people from Wolves that it was dry yesterday! Seem to remember pre season last year KK - best number one in the league Klindt - best reserve in the league Kurtz and Holder - new turbo twins Newman - Mr Poole and he beat Tai as well , could end up a heatleader How did that all turn out lol This season there are doubts over the Poles, Linus and already Holder has gone awol. Love the crowing about the team this season..................exactly like last year and that went spectacularly wrong.2 points

You really wonder why they have closed down the Unofficial Forum , its not rocket science the same couple of people using it for slanging abuse to the promotion . There's ways and means of getting your point across without starting doing the same on this Forum as well . Pop yourself along to the office and take jenga with you , for gods sake , we have only had 1 meeting and you're off all ready. We approached Steve in the bar afterwards and made our point known about the food . If people had gone to the Meet the Riders/management meeting they would have known about the new ticket system, programme prices . We all have opinions /pay our money but the continuous slating is just getting tiresome !!2 points

So Poole fans actually know more about the weather in Wolverhampton than people who live in .... Wolverhampton ? What a strange bunch2 points

We are not all mouthy gobs as you put here at Poole thank you ps there is a lot off speedway between now and October win or lose so let's enjoy it2 points

You tell me? As far as I can see there is no need for umbrella girls in motorsport. They do not add anything other then embarrassment. In F1, from what I have read, the original use was for them to hold umbrellas to shield the drivers from sun or rain. F1 have come to the conclusion that such service is no longer required. The only "use" the umbrella girls have in speedway is eye candy for old men and teenage boys i.e. no real use at all. I have yet to see a valid argument regarding what the umbrella girls add to a speedway meeting. We don't have them in the Swedish leagues and we do just fine without them. Our spectators comes to the meeting to watch speedway racing not umbrella girls.2 points

So, after the cancellation of the Edinburgh match, the Redcar Bears will be the first to come into the Scorpions den for 2018. Fingers crossed the weathers on our side, as it'll be the first team action (I believe) for both sides. For the Scorpions side, im very much looking forward to seeing our newbie Gino in action, I've read how grateful he is for the Scorpions giving him a team place and really hope he can deliver the goods for us. Im looking forward to seeing Stevie back in a Scunny jacket after 7 years too and hopefully will be the number 1 we've needed for some time. For the Bears team, im only really looking forward to seeing Jordan Stewart, who Rob did have pencelled in, until Redcar came along and snapped his signature.. Fingers crossed for a cracking meeting, the first of 2018 weather permitting1 point

1. Woffinden 2. Doyle 3. Zmarzlik 4. Dudek 5. Zagar 6. Emil 7. Lindgren 8. Hancock 9. Laguta 10. Vaculik 11. Janowski 12. Pawlicki 13. Pedersen 14. Holder 15. Cook Think Woffinden will be back this year to his best and pip Doyle. The two poles will go close but ultimately slip away. Next four speak for themselves. Laguta to go close, Vaculik or Janowski to be close to top 8. Pedersen and Holder nowhere near their best and it will be the last year for both in the GP's. Hope Cook can do himself justice but just can't see him challenging. Hopefully he does the qualifiers and qualifies for next year and gets a year experience on the continent to have a real push in 2019. Would love to see him do well though.1 point

To be fair Matt stuck to his words from mid-season that he would be replacing up to 5 riders - and he's done exactly that for this season.1 point

Well good to see Kurtz and Woryna and Matt S doing well in Poland. Woryna 3 wins for 3=9pts MATT s=6+1 from 4 kurtz=14 Pts from 6 rides. Took a while but last 3 heats was on it. In British news Craig Cook was rubbish. Just looked slow 2 Pts from 4 rides. Hope he sorts it out though.1 point

I am hoping by mentioning it, other fans will think he is worth sponsoring. It's a damned expensive sport, and they need every bit of help, I should perhaps waste my money on a rider that rides for another club, rather than the one I support. I look above snide comments from an odd fan, as I know the vast majority of Brummie fans are fantastic bunch of fans. What should be remembered is it is due to riders sponsors that the rider is able to ride for your club, and on going support allows them competitive equipment.1 point

How good was the racing at the Shay.? Mostly it was good. But also kinda irrelevant - it was worth going just to watch riders sweep up and down that banking. Being (slightly) serious though I loved my Saturday trips to Halifax, and Bradford after the Shay closed to speedway, a relatively near trip on the supporter's club coach meaning I didn't arrive back home too late to annoy / worry my parents, one of many venues which gave enjoyment & pleasure to 1,000's now sadly missed....1 point

I understand the views about the vulnerability of the new young riders, but it is my opinion that most of the fault lies with the BSPA who this year ( and probably in the past too) engineered a silly low team building average making it certain that some teams would have to employ young riders who are not ready. Not all promoters discard riders easily. But they are few and far between.. If this year the points average would have been a healthy 42.5 then all the capable riders now without team places would have a job while some of the no hopers at 6 & 7 would still be attending training schools where they belong.1 point

In all my years with this sport I cannot remember an Easter period with so many washed-out meetings and still continuing to rain. Looks like Kent have shut shop till the end of April with neither of the weekend meetings being re-arranged on the spare Mondays of this month. Not so good for the less experienced riders who really would benefit from these challenge matches, big shame.1 point

For far too long promotions have taken no responsibility for the riders they are tracking or the safety of those around them. There have been many riders who are simply not up to the standard of NL racing but placed on the line with others despite their questionable competence. Others of course have been hauled along with the speed and initially given the appearance of being capable only to have a big off at a later date. As you mention there are then the riders like Liam Millar who get dragged into a NL team (and can't always blame the rider if a NL team thinks you are ready then you are ready right?) does a couple of meetings, scores duck eggs then is dropped and tarred forever as a NL failure despite being introduced too early to stand any fair chance. Many NL clubs do very little to generate the next riders to the sport yet are happy to moan like crazy when the standard of suitable 3 pointers just isn't there.1 point

As already stated you know nothing about what the weather was like up here yesterday, we had heavy rain overnight and there were showers and drizzle well into the evening, had they not called it off in the morning Belle vue riders and their supporters would have had a wasted journey. There's not a chance the meeting would have gone ahead, believe me CVS would not have cancelled a bank holiday meeting lightly1 point

So, these mostly young riders are taken on by various clubs just so as the fairground operators can keep the show on the road and as long as the punters keep coughing up their shekels every couple of weeks then everything in the garden is rosy? Surely, promoters owe some duty of care to young riders and in return for them trolling all round the country to race for less than 5 minutes a meeting at probably not inconsiderable expense and risk to themselves then the clubs need to give some kind of ongoing support to these riders rather than simply giving them the heave ho whenever it suits their short-term objectives. One might hope that the governing body might lay down guidelines on how young riders should be treated and developed but then we are talking speedway here so there is probably more chance of me becoming Pope Fubar the First. I am trying to remember the name of the young lad who came down from Scotland a couple of season's ago to be Stoke's reserve but I don't think his feet touched the ground before he was given the order of the boot. I hate to think what effect this casual discarding must have on the self esteem and mental well-being of these youngsters but don't lets worry as I am sure there will be some more cannon fodder pitching up any time soon. Seems all a bit shoddy to me but perhaps I expect too much of people.......1 point

I take no joy in getting the amount correct as i got no speedway fix all weekend. I went with promotions that are ~ rightly or wrongly ~ more stubborn to the treat of adverse weather.1 point

I watched some Polish speedway last night where there were grid girls. The zooming in close ups of parts of these young women's anatomy was frankly pathetic. If you were sitting watching this with your children/grandchildren how would you explain this camera work to them. Time to move on.1 point

Enjoyed watching a couple of the Colts "lesser lights" today, Ben Woodhull & Joe Lawlor. Ben's limited opportunities in BV colours last season triggered many a debate about who was the better of the twins. Great to see him back on board, imo the kid has plenty of ticker & not afraid to get stuck in. Sure to improve with a run in the side. Good to see Joe Lawlor back, got steadily better as the match went on. Look forward to watching him develop this season. For the Bees, Danny Phillips was excellent early doors, good style & lines. Jamie Halder impressed too. Happy to have the Bees back in town, it's a crying shame & a disgrace what's happened, hope to see Cov back in the top league taking on the Aces ASAP.1 point

You ladies and gents, girls and boys are total legends all over British speedway. Most clubs wish they had a group of fans that can make as much noise and create an exciting atmosphere like you do. You lot made the cup meeting at the showground a great meeting to be at. It really did feel like 2 tribes going to war.1 point
