I would call that comment a bit derogatory. I would also call posting something negative about him every single time he's mentioned an obsession. We all know you don't like him. We get it.4 points

Ive only one thing to say about the Poole team. If they are using RR at Swindon next season I wont be filling out a programme!!!4 points

I'm not convinced that KK is on his way to sign for the Aces, we shall see. However, he did a good job for us the last time he rode for us and I, for one, would welcome him back on his present average. I know some, well Stevebrum, seems obsessed with posting derogatory comments every time his name is mentioned but I don't see how he can fail to improve his average.3 points

Although I would like to see KK sign for the Aces on his current average I hope, in a way, that he signs for you because you signed him last year when he was dropped and because I think he will improve his average and help you build a very competitive team.2 points

2017-18 WINTER EDITION Welcome to issue 39 of our quarterly magazine BELLE VUE: 50 Memorable Moments Belle Vue celebrated a remarkable 90th successive season of racing in 2017. Rob Peasley looks back at the brilliant all-star Aces’ pre-war team and the exploits of arguably England’s finest-ever rider, the 'Wizard Of Balance' Peter Craven. Jack Parker, Bill Kitchen, Ron Johnston, Ken Sharples, Henry Long, Dick Fisher, Soren Sjosten, Ivan Mauger, Dent Oliver, Eric Broadbelt and Ken Eyre also feature in this look back at the pre-70s Hyde Road era. PAYNE and GLORY – the Arthur Payne story In a new interview, John Chaplin catches up with former Australian and Birmingham star Arthur Payne, who progressed rapidly from Division Three unknown at Tamworth to the top flight in just three seasons. PHIL the POWER – Phil Woodcock interview Phil Woodcock became an instant star with second division Romford. Paul Hiscock spoke to the former Bombers No.1 who launched his career in his native West Country. BORN SHOWMAN Doug Nicolson recalls the life and times of former promoter Ian Hoskins, one of the sport's biggest publicity-seeking showmen who did more than anyone to put Scottish speedway on the map. HOMES OF BRITISH SPEEDWAY: WEST HAM Custom House opened its doors to speedway in July 1928 and remained one of the sport's great bastions until the bulldozers razed it to the ground in 1972. We look back at the history of this large venue in the docklands heartland of east London, where star riders included: Tiger Stephenson, Bluey Wilkinson, Tommy Croombs, Arthur Atkinson, Eric Chitty, Malcolm Craven, Wally Green, Aub Lawson, Cliff Watson, Jack Young, Bjorn Knutson, Ken McKinlay, Sverre Harrfeldt, Norman Hunter, Malcolm Simmons, Tony Clarke, Olle Nygren, Christer Lofqvist and Kevin Holden. GENTLEMAN JACK David Beresford catches up with Jack Lee, one of speedway's unsung heroes who was in at the birth of British League Division Two and went on to become a respected team manager nurturing future stars. MISSING MEN – why nothing's new The 2017 Championship season ended in a state of flux, with rained-off meetings leading to hurried rearrangements, star riders opting out of prestigious individual meetings, some staying in Europe rather than returning for league meetings, others flying out to Australia before completing their fixtures and some dubious claims of riders being unable to ride due to illness or injury. But, as Doug Nicolson ponders, was it any different in the 'good old days'? . . . Plus . . . Antonin Kasper and Les Steward obits, WSRA dinner pics, Crossword and full-page Bradford (1954) team photo. I particularly enjoyed the interview with Phil Woodcock. Romford is one track I would have liked to have visited!1 point

Time will tell. In a weakened league with only a couple of top boys racing he could even improve his average. If he can maintain an 8 point average he will have done well IMHO. We've seen riders being written off before a wheel has turned before and they've shown posters up. Who knows, KK might even ride to a world class standard in 2018. Anything is possible.1 point

Reckon I would have heard if he was. But I haven't. Rye won' let him go easily. Think he will stay1 point

KK can have a poor season and yet still improve his average. Someone will be getting a bargain.1 point

GTech beat me to it. Though I didn' know Cliff owned a cottage there but I knew he lived in the village.1 point

You're certainly entitled to your opinion and I would defend your right to express it but just last season alone you made numerous derogatory posts about him. I wasn't referring to just your last post, as I think I made clear.1 point

While I agree you normally needed a strong reserve to swap in to the top 5, last year the top 3 teams had the lowest averaging reserve pairings. Adam and Bradley swapped places but I think both Belle Vue and Wolves reserves stayed there. The 5 riders signed this year all had their best season last year so are improving. No reason as of yet to assume that will stop. Quite happy for people to write us off again.1 point

I am only trying to look on the bright side. I have decided, now that Double Points is no more thank goodness, to return to Speedway again - I am hoping it will be at Newcastle - it is my local Track. I don't want to be defeatist, and I have faith in George, as I am sure he will be working as hard as he can to ensure Newcastle's future. We are not privy to what is going on in the background, and lack of information is, I agree, niggling. However, negotiations may be at a critical point with Sponsors and George can't announce anything until things are finalised. I am not saying that is so - but it is possible. That is the way I am trying to look at it. IF and until closure is announced, I will still believe that I will be going to Brough next year.1 point

Personally I quite like unveiling of riders in Bears colours at the Christmas party. I think it adds to the occasion. Who doesn't like surprises at Christmas ? UTB1 point

If you witnessed the pathetic effort by Kevin Doolan, when he guested for Peterborough last year, when he was on a guaranteed amount, you wouldn't want any rider getting a set amount to just turn up. Pay them per point, & make them earn their money.1 point

KK fits nicely in there at just under 7!!! On his way to England 2moro so hopefully it’s to meet Lemo!!!! ♣️1 point

Greg I think Buster and the Club deserved all they had levelled at them last season.1 point

Didn't take long to be spouting the party line (patronising btw) You had about as much chance of signing Dudek as you had signing Magic (no chance) and who's to say that Piotr Pawlicki wouldn't have gone back to Wolves? In other words Poole haven't been impacted by the new SGP rule for riders who didn't ride here last season.1 point

He has no proof though, anyone can put statements in bold print on a forum and claim it as gospel.1 point

I know i will get shot down by many, especially on this thread. Personally i think all foreigners should start on at least a 5pt average. If they don't achieve that then it would be down to the promoters whether they would want these foreigners back the next season, again on a 5pt average.1 point

Exactly lets not forget Mateusz is owed by Buster at Kings Lynn who gave Matt permission to talk to him.1 point

Really pleased with Richard returning. Turned our season around last year and was always awesome to watch around the OTA. Jason Doyle 9.69 Jake Allen 5.07 Richard Lawson 6.43 Charles Wright 6.69 Robert Lambert 7.38 Bradley Wilson-Dean 4.67 Simon Lambert 2.32 Total: 42.251 point

That's the odd thing about the averages. Can't see why they didn't stick with using 1 average again. Would make more sense. But of course this is British speedway so it's never going to be sensible.1 point

They were poor signings as well. Not even denying that. Swindon turned it around due to the masterstroke signing in Musielak otherwise they would have finished bottom.1 point

all good solid riders and 2 improvers in Howarth and Heeps. no risks with that 1-7 and easily top 4 material. then again they could sign 2 Poles in the hope they bring with them their form from abroad which is no certainty. your on every thread mocking all the other teams when to be be honest Pooles doesnt look that good at the moment. Maybe in your mind we shouldnt bother with the league and just let Poole take it. If Belle Vue build the supposed 1-7 rumoured they look big favourites1 point

KK, Klindt, Lahti, Kennett. Lets see what the outcome is at the end of the season. Last year Poole fans crowed about their team and mocked Swindon..........how did that pan out?1 point

Although Wolves look weaker for 2018......using 2017 championsip averages; Howarth 8.62 Masters 8.57 Schlein 8.58 Heeps 6.93 Morris 4.88 Greaves 4.51 Thorssell 10.36 (EL ave x 1.2) Total 52.45 As others have asked, can you name any Championship side anywhere near as strong?1 point

Not so much 'interesting' as 'crucial' Surely no one could countenance a World Championship level event which gave more points to the pair who come second and third?1 point

Strikes me the lad has had a fallout with his bird and gone off on a strop. We've all been there and know what it's like to feel broken-hearted and desolate. Give him time - he'll come round. Once the icy blast of winter turns into the thaw of spring he'll start to realize that stacking shelves in Lidl is no way for an all-action Barnsley lad to earn a living. He'll be back on the bike by March.1 point

I dont have a UK team of my own, but I'm sticking with Niemi as the best Finnish rider ever. Also I can see Niemi riding in Finnish finals pretty regurarly between 75-90 with 9 titles, 1 Silver and 1 bronze. Where as I did not see Kylmä ride in Finnish championship at all after 2003. Dont know why Niemi did almost them all, but it's pretty safe to say it was about money that Kylmä did not. My point with Niemi riding a 15 year career wasn't about it been super long, it was about it being longer than I had realised. I'm kind of surprised myself, but I get no kicks out of this debate on the best Finn. But I do hope that Timo Lahti makes enough of himself to be considered a part of a similar thread in 10 years time1 point
