remembertheracers
Eurosport seem pleased with their speedway coverage. Asked Premier Sports if they would be overing it in 2014 and gort this reply - Thank you for contacting Premiersports – Channel 428.Unfortunately we have no plan in showing the Swedish speedway this year on the channel. It appears that Euro sport has taken on the right to show it this year and onward. Please do let us know if you still need additional info by replying to the same email.

BluPanther
It would be better on Sky. You don't need the sports package on Sky to watch Eurosport, so i'm happy as things stand..

Catabracadabra
This is great news, the Swedish league is exciting, just the polish league missing off our sports channels. Another live meeting on a main sports channel is good news, another night of speedway action
pugwash
I can't see what the big deal is. Swede League was shown on prem sports which had crap coverage, it's now gonna be on Eurosport which has crap coverage, just live pictures with some guy in a garden shed whittering on about something he knows f##k all about. I watched the ice speedway the other day and the guy commentating on there is dull and I switched it off. The commentator has to have a little bit of enthusiasm for the viewer to enjoy it

Clearly you didn't watch much of the coverage on Premier Sports then as the commentator on there most certainly did know what he was talking about. Still, no fun unless there's something to whinge about.

Eurosport is much cheapier for most people. Premier Sports did a good job, no-one is critiszing them for their broadcast!
michaelcroucher
folks always have something to moan about. Its good news that its going to be on peoples screen so lets not worry about the commentator, just enjoy great racing.

Eurosport is the one with the numpty that hangs around Scotty. Edited March 11, 2014 by pugwash
flagrag
I have spoken to a couple of contacts at Eurosport and it appears that it is good news with Swedish league being shown in the UK and across Europe by Eurosport. The coverage should be improved as the host broadcaster are very keen to make this work and will be providing a HD world feed with the main programme interviews done in English and the swedish broadcaster will do own interviews mainly with swedish riders. There will also be full English commentary and graphics You have to remember this is a lot bigger deal both financially and audience size to the Premier sports which was just the UK to a 140-200k subscribers. Now you are talking Europe wide with possibly millions of viewers as is included in a lot of tv packages and even free to air in some countries.
iris123
Yes indeed.A great deal......the same coverage as the SEC gets Tbh,the Ice Speedway was pretty boring even for an enthusiast like me.By the end of a lot of heats the riders were so strung out i often thought maybe there was only the one finisher......until the next rider came into view. And even here in Germany the German guy,who is the same guy who does the speedway got a fair bit of criticism(going into detail about which village in the back of nowhere most riders came from and what they do for a day job etc..),so it isn't just GB coverage
