Guest Ashie Smashy
In theory this is the closet thing we have to a one-off World final and on paper would be en excellent competed event for those elusive GP places. So I wondered if this will be shown on TV, if Sky have the TV rights to show it?
Gemini
I hope not because that would reduce the attendance by quite a margin I would imagine, judging by how the fans stay at home whenever Coventry are on Sky.

Must admit if I was still in Nottingham I would have come along, but now I face a 3-4 hour drive I think so is putting me off a bit, am tempted though. At £25 Ashie i can tell ya even some of the locals are put off, plus a fiver for a prog etc, etc. I'll be ditching the prog for a spreadsheet that's for sure. So I wondered if this will be shown on TV, if Sky have the TV rights to show it? There is nothing on the Sky website to say it is being covered, so I suspect not. It should be a great meeting with the coveted GP places up or grabs and I will definitely be be there, whether it's on SKy or not. Strangely, it seems to have met with quite a bit of negativity on here ( actually I'm not surprised ) .

StevePark
Will CleanCut do it? They film the Coventry matches at Brandon, so one presumes they will be filming this too.
ballinger
They film the Coventry matches at Brandon, so one presumes they will be filming this too. Although the GP Challenge is a separate contract than the one we have for Coventry Bees matches, I can confirm we hold the contractual rights to produce a DVD from the GP Challenge. Subject to some Ts & Cs to be clarified upon my return to the UK, we intend to exercise our right to film the GP Challenge Cheers Pete

Three or four? From Dorset? Ashie - you should able to do Coventry in 2 to 2 and a half hours easy from down here. I'd think you're taking the scenic route if you're taking 3-4 hours to get there Edited August 28, 2009 by rabbit

Yet again, moan moan about the price. £25 is perfectly reasonable for the type of meeting that this is. You should be happy that we have a stadium capable of holding this type of meeting and that they've chosen to hold it there. I know I am. You could of course drive down to Somerset to watch Jason Crump half a lap ahead of everybody else in a meeting that means nothing to anyone other than Mark Lemon. I'm not having a go at you here CC, I'm just fed up with all the moaning...

I have done it three times now ranging from 3.5-4.5 hours from Nottingham to South Coast.
Rob B
Which route would you take then? I have done it three times now ranging from 3.5-4.5 hours from Nottingham to South Coast. From Poole across to Southampton, up A34 onto M40 then come off at either banbury and up A423 or Warwick and up A46, should take about 2 and half hours. rabbit
Rob's got it - A31 from Poole, onto M27, join the M3, turn off for Newbury up the A34 before joining the M40. Then off at Jct 15 near Warwick onto the A46 - it's dual carriageway or motorway from about 5 miles outside Poole to the TGI Friday's roundabout a mile or so from Brandon. That and Oxford are (were!) always two of the easiest tracks to get to and Coventry is even easier now that the Chieveley road works have been done and it's a seemless journey through where the old roundabout and lights used to be. Give it a try...you'll be surprised!

I think the extra fiver is well worth it just to see the handsome Pole riding over here again.

We want to go up for this meeting from Southampton but will find an alternative route.
