I believe there have been proposals to name the stand after Mort, but it was Mort himself, being a modest man, who refused it.

Chris Morton also an MBE.   Promoters Johnnie Hoskins and Ronnie Greene also honoured.    Ivan Mauger is the only rider to also receive an OBE.

Victor Palovaara Personally think the 3 assessed riders will surprise a few, very impressed with this Edinburgh team, not got a lot of top end power but 6 riders who could be heatleaders and a young rider that they've stuck by.
