Speedway has dabbled with betting companies in the past and nothing has ever really come from it, which is a shame as it looks to be a huge untapped cash cow 🐄 for the sport and are effectively the modern day equivalent to tobacco companies, you only have to look at most other sports who have obscure betting companies plastered all over their clothing etc. Victor Chandler used to sponsor Coventry, I'm pretty sure there was some on course betting at a few tracks back in the noughties and Bet365 showed meetings (similar to dog meetings) for a while. Not sure why it didn't work as you'd think it would be a humane alternative to the doggies 🐕 Good for Oxford though 🎰

As an ex Eastbourne supporter... the seasons I enjoyed the most were either when we were challenging for a trophy... and there were a few of those seasons... or we were battling to avoid the wooden spoon and the rare victories we achieved were much celebrated... and there were probably more of those seasons! I did have a 150 mile round trip to visit Arlington... and the seasons when that became harder to endure were those when it became obvious that we were going to achieve nothing more or less than mid table mediocrity... and so results meant little. But as DaveWayne says... a supporter is a supporter and you should be so during both good and bad times... I'd love to have my track still up and running and be "suffering" those long hours on the road for each meeting...
