Riss has a lower average than Nicholls, so if the teams average went above 40 when Nicholls is fit, might not be as simple as that? As Nicholls won't start the season, don't think they can use a rider as a 28 day replacement like they can during the season? Of course if the team is below 40 or Riss ups his average to 8.6+, no issue! -

I stand corrected, perhaps I am being harsh on Ashton, especially considering I've only seen him a few times in person. I hope he kicks on next year and starts pushing for that 3rd heatleader spot in the Glasgow team, would be really nice to see him progress, I have nothing against him whatsoever. I think I forget just how young and raw he is, when I'm comparing him to the likes of Drew Kemp, Anders Rowe etc... They've all got a fair few years on him. -
He'll be straight back in the Oxford team the second he's fit enough. Whoever is signed at 5 as a replacement (Riss?) will be well aware of that, and on a relevant contract I'm sure. -

Gutted for Nicholls. There are so few clubs left that the probability of a heat leader spot becoming available mid-season is low. I’m hopeful he has a few years left in him. -
