    • Had to manually input the code for good couple of months now in Smiths but yesterday I brought one in Smiths at Liverpool Street station and to my shock it actually scanned. ps outside of the issues of barcodes failing to scan, I still love the magazine, I would not buy it if I didn’t. i especially love the throwback features to the sport before my time 70s and earlier, great piece this week on West Ham, wish I had been alive to have visited Custom House in its hey day.
    • Agree but Ray has asked a question, hopefully his question has been answered.
    • Tyres around a metal post that close to the track would offer very little protection for a rider and would not, thankfully, be approved anymore. it would be potentially lethal.
    • Just found this Speedway Forum post from @norbold regarding the ill-fated 2002 Wimbledon revival and its promoters:   It was definitely Dave Cro ucher and Steve Ribbons who were behind the Wimbledon revival. They commissioned my book "Two Wimbldeon Legends" to launch on opening night. I offered to do it for nothing as long as they paid the printing costs, which they agreed. When I gave them the invoice from the printers, they both said I should speak to the other one about it and both denied ever making the agreement. In fact they both made it as I met both of them to talk about it. It took me over a year and various threats of legal action to get anything out of them and even then it only amounted to some of the cash and a number of complimentary copies of the book. Oh yes, it was those two all right. I'm not likely to forget it!
    • Is it really tosh though? Lidsey was vocal last year about needing the weather to get warmer during his early season struggles in the cold, Zischke's returning from a big injury who's almost got no top flight experience. Reason why I'm confident in Jason Doyle hitting the ground running is because it's nothing new for him to recover from a massive injury, He's made a whole career out of it tbh. Emil Sayfutdinov rode in the Polish Ekstraliga Play-Offs last season after his Sheffield crash so nothing to worry about with him, King is the only question mark after his surgery on his hand. As for the results, I just don't see how you get close to Ipswich around Foxhall when breaking down the 1-7's. Would any of the following really happen around Foxhall?  Kurtz, Bewley & Lidsey outscoring Doyle, Sayfutdinov and Brennan? Blodorn and Z. Cook outscoring Ellis and King? Zischke and Mulford outscoring D. Thompson and Jenkins?   Ipswich are ahead in every department for me and quite comfortably, Around the NSS I'd side with BV 2 - 1 but only just.
    • Glasgow Tigers Vs Celtic/Rangers... Yeah, that's a hard sell.
