    • Brian Burford's 4-page story of the first Speedway Test Match is a very good read in this week's Speedway Star. Great historic pictures, too. I love my Speedway Star.đź’•
    • I tried two calls to Sky today and basically got nowhere. I told them I now can't get Eurosport or  the sport part on the Discovery+ app, and yet I'm still asked to pay the same monthly price.  All I got was lots of excuses, and one advisor even suggested I increase my package by another ÂŁ15 a month! I'm amazed you got a result, as despite my sweet talking I got nowhere with them. Not sure what other no cost or low cost options I have to watch the GP's and League matches live this year? I do have BT Internet and Virgin Fibre outside my house, but I'm not sure if it would be any cheaper going with them than adding TNT Sport to my existing Sky package. I think the TNT sport is another ÂŁ30 amonth, and I'm not paying that just for Speedway coverage.
    • I used to be involved in the promotion of one of the stock car organisations and used to get onto both local BBC and commercial radio stations on a fairly regular basis. I also know that at least two other local promotions were also successful in getting on the local radio stations. Providing you didn't just make it a free advert and gave them a story about local drivers with reference to recent results, then even the BBC stations would accept mention of forthcoming meetings where the drivers you had mentioned would be in action again. Speedway would be a lot easier with the team format at most meetings meaning you are automatically talking about something local even if the riders come from the four corners of the world. It does however mean you have to cultivate interest from one of the presenters and give them information on a regular basis. The promotion I worked for had two tracks in the same area so I only ever mentioned one track on the local BBC station and the other track on the local commercial station, that way both stations were happy to interview me every two or three weeks during the season.
    • just all go on British speedway network streaming great presentation by people who know speedway
    • Havent been to mildenhall in a while but wouldn’t it be feasible to build a new track at the back of the current stadium by the motox track, not sure who owns the land but it is surrounded by fields
    • British speedway has 2 sets of problems, 1 what happens inside the sport. 2 what happens outside the sport, inside Phil morris is trying to sort but in reality people are not not going because of what happens in the sport. A good promoter will sell a turd to a sewage works, this leads to what is happening outside the sport and it’s perception and consciousness of the public and standing in the community and to be frank it has none and that’s never going to be sorted by anybody who has any sort of stake in the game and as I come to learn in recent years some of the people within the game are putting it mildly not the best to be associated with speedway
