They were in a position where they had to put a team together when everyone else had started well ahead of them.. The averages given to their top two at the time were more to help them look competitive, and get decent guests, than actually reflect on their actual capability... Getting Brum to the tapes at the start of the season was the major priority for all, and they were never going to say "this team is wooden spoon material" in press releases, even if most followers of the sport could clearly see they were.. Birmingham simply doesn't have enough people interested in Speedway enough to turn up each meeting, similar to a fair few other places... Fair play to all involved for giving it a go and keeping it going...

I’ve tried this tonight and it still kept stating I am not eligible. Previously was always available with Sky Sports package. Disgraceful that they can’t put a World Team Championship on Eurosport. To which I can record and watch when I’m free. I have no interest in The Tiddlywinks and Tractor pulling.
I will be cancelling my Sky package as the main reason was for the Speedway. Eurosport has always been so unreliable, changing live World Final events to Discovery is goodbye Sky, save myself £££ per month. Understand it’s not Sky’s call but it’s they I pay. -
Think he is getting married the weekend we are at Edinburgh. So I’ve heard.

Would you have expected them to say anything other than that! The main problem with developing the Showground with 1500 houses is that the road infrastructure isn’t there to support it, the Showground has two entry and exit points, one of which I’m pretty certain they don’t own the land and are currently leasing it. The Showground is surrounded by houses, offices, factories and the A1. 3000+ additional cars will cause carnage to the Ortons and Alwalton. That’s before we discuss doctors, dentists and schools who are all currently over subscribed and under pressure. The Showground should have been developed 15/20 years ago when Southgate and Northgate was built, they’ve missed the development boat, they just don’t realise it yet.
