Would have been box office a couple of years ago, but now? Would question his desire? If the next AGM decided that teams are required to field a DJ, how about bringing in Tony Blackburn? Would surely come in on a very low (age related) average and no doubt free up points elsewhere for team building? Any seventies era DJ would feel quite at home at most tracks, since the music played over the PA is what they were playing when they were on air. -

SUNDERLAND 'SAINTS' - 1964: The dreadful duo Bill Bridgett and Mike Parker. We didn't finish the season. Lasted around nine weeks. They used our riders to reinforce their other Clubs. Wolverhampton and Newcastle. SUNDERLAND 'STARS' - 1971 to 1974: 1971 Len Silver. We didn't have a strong Team but at least we finshed the Season. Bottom of the National League. 1972/1973 Len Silver. We had a much improved Team. 1974 The 'downfall'. During the close season Len Silver sold us to new Promoters Ray Fell and Alan Chorlton. 1974 They changed our name to SUNDERLAND 'GLADIATORS' - not popular. Following that the Team won only two of seventeen matches and the new Promotors walked away around June. 1974 Elizabeth Taylor took over the reins, rather more successfully, and saw us out until the end of the season. 1975 SUNDERLAND never re-opened for Speedway. We had closed down for good. There has been no Speedway at Sunderland since. 50 years ago is a long time. As for Promoters, I have the greatest respect for Len Silver and Elizabeth Taylor. As for the rest, they were absolutely hopeless for our Club. -
So Dan Wilkes and Jody Scott as guests for the Cheetahs, good or bad?
