This is going to be the issue going forward if ideally the league next year is up to eight where are the five to six extra world class riders going to come from ? given two new teams would both need a top liner and so will Ipswich and Northampton and possibly Sheffield also if Jack Holder doesn't recover from his bad hand injury. They would potentially come but it will need promoters to offer major dollar from their own pockets or a tv deal of Sky standards that allows six figures to be dangled in the riders faces and that didn't work out well last time when all the number one's left after the Sky trough was empty. Anyone who knows more than me on how it will all be financed I would love to hear this isn't a dig as would be great if it happens but it looks a huge ask to me.

Exactly. Not our fault that belle vue are the only team that take the league seriously. Others need to up there game big time 

Don’t rope United into city’s problems in filling the emptihad. Still 76,000 turn up at OT despite the dross served up these last few years. As for the speedway you can only beat whats in front of you. Pity the rest of the league has been sub standard so the entertainment is non existent at times. 

Wasn't it woffy when he first signed for Sheffield say he would have come over sooner but not one team reached out to him.    Promoters make no effort to sign riders. The owners are lazy. Not posts on here

It’s almost impossible to get someone of the required standard over once the season has started unless you throw completely unrealistic money at someone and even then it isn’t a given! Doyle is the probable only exception. He’s always ridden here, wanted to ride here again this year and waited on Ipswich as long as he could before giving up and making plans elsewhere.    He was always the one likely to come back mid season if/when an opportunity presented itself. He lives here.    The stars aligned nicely for Belle Vue. Mark Lemon was in and around all the GP riders at the NSS for the GP weekend here at the time they were looking for a replacement for Bewley. They asked the question, and got the deal.    A couple of seasons ago when we lost Doyle and then Emil, Louis with total backing of guy Nicholls, threw the kitchen sink at every quality rider to get replacements in. The closest they came was Michelsen who at one stage they thought they’d done a deal for, but he backed out at the eleventh hour.    They’re very lazy shouts from people on here when they come out with “pay the money and get someone over”, they’re living in cloud cuckoo land. Once the season gets underway, it’s almost impossible.
