Ellis didnt turn up and his excuse was that he was at Sheffield's P/P....that is my memory of that day (apart from Dan Gilkes looking like a very good prospect....nobody knowing who he was, behind the mask! LOL) I'm more than happy to be wrong again as you put it! But Bham fans were not aware that Ellis's signing was short term from the get go!!!

You are wrong again, he did: I was there. It was only when we saw Ellis in a Birmingham jacket that we knew who the rider was.

Not really sure if I'm right, but think I am,, in the majority speedway is most people's second or third sport,, so are not willing to pay the extra,, as they already pay a large amount for their main sport,, probably football on a different package.
